Shirley was born to Ethel and Eugene Buechel in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 14, 1938. She grew up in the Cincinnati area, graduated from Mother of Mercy High School and was a long-time member of St. Margaret Mary Parish in North College Hill.
Shirley is the beloved wife of James McDade; devoted mother of the late Kathy (Bob) Schierer, Kim (George) Collins and David (Ron Lunsford) McDade; loving grandmother of Aj Schierer, Brandon Schierer and Tyler Collins; dear sister of Nancy (Howard) Ferguson and sister-in-law of Donald and Sue McDade, Betty McDade and Barb Smith; special aunt to numerous nieces and nephews; and predeceased by her parents and many caring in-laws.
Shirley loved to spend time with family, gather with friends from church clubs, and meet up with old chums from her primary and high school days. She also enjoyed playing all sorts of games, particularly card games. A good time was had by all when Shirley was present. She was a bright and shining light in the lives of those who knew her and will be deeply missed.
A visitation for Shirley will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 from 10:30 am until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am at St. Margaret Mary Church (1830 W. Galbraith Rd.). Those wishing to make a donation in Shirley's memory may contribute to the Juvenile Diabetes fund at JDRF or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
