Pauline D. Cornett
Fairfield - Pauline D. Cornett, 89, passed away July 17, 2021. She was born on April 16, 1932 in Crockettsville, KY to the late Jerry and Sophia Deaton. She is the beloved wife of the late James N. Cornett. Devoted mother of Kimberly Eileen Cornett of Fairfield. Dear sister of Ollie (the late Mentz) Turner, Jerry (Kay) Deaton Jr., and Eileen (Tommy) Price. Proceeded in death by her sister, Millie (the late Edward L.) Minter and her loving pets, J.J., Muffin and Hailey. Member of Pleasant Run Presbyterian Church for nearly 50 years where she had been a Deacon, sewed and quilted for the Women’s Association and worked with the Military Support Group. She was dedicated to helping her church family and her community. She was a Kentucky Colonel as well as being active with the Butler County Democratic Party. Graduated with a degree in Elementary Education from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, KY; then, taught second and third grade for Fairfield City Schools, Union Local Schools and in Kentucky. She enjoyed being with her family and was famous for baking a large variety of Christmas cookies for the Deaton Family Christmas Party. She enjoyed the adventure of travel with many trips, including Maine & Cozumel, Mexico. She liked doing crossword puzzles, going to the casino and playing Rook. She loved animals and each year attended the Bark & Purr Ball for homeless animals. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 22nd, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Paul R. Young Funeral Home, 3950 Pleasant Ave., Hamilton, OH 45015. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at the Pleasant Run Presbyterian Church, 11565 Pippin Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45231. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park (Hamilton, OH). Memorial donations can be made to Animal Friends Humane Society, 1820 Princeton Rd., Hamilton, OH 45011 and Pleasant Run Presbyterian Church for building maintenance, 11565 Pippin Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45231.
