Dorothy Alma Gillespie, 96, reunited with her husband Robert and beloved son Larry (Karen) following her peaceful passing on March 20th, 2023. Born March 16th, 1927, in Parnell County, Kentucky, the second youngest of eight children, Dorothy spent her final days celebrating her birthday with family, friends and loved ones.
Dot was a beloved great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, sister, and wife in her years of life. She is survived by her children – Betty, Bobby and Tom, grandchildren – Elizabeth, Kathleen, Becky, Laura, Margaret, Trevor and Megan, her great-grandchildren – Marcus, Ian, Neil, Daphne and Jack, and dear friend Linden.
Well known for her resourcefulness, kindness, quick wit, sarcasm, and her ever present smile, Dot was always willing to aid and support her friends and family. Her sweet tea, creamed corn, and chocolate pie were made with love. Her hugs, kisses and life lessons will remain with each person she touched. She will be dearly missed, but we are so blessed for the time we had to spend with her. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Cincinnati.
In Dorothy’s honor, visitation will be held from 11:00am to 1:00pm with the funeral service following immediately after on Tuesday, March 28th, 2023 at Winton Road First Church of God, 6200 Winton Rd, Fairfield, OH 45014. Burial services will follow at 2:00pm at Crown Hill Memorial Park and Mausoleum at 11825 Pippin Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45231.
