Clara Henderson

Clara “MawMaw” Henderson, age 96, of Helenwood, TN passed away peacefully at her home on Friday June 10th, 2022. Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Henderson, daughters Carol Sexton and Joyce Kehrer, her sister Bertha Harnist and her brother H. Clay Smith. She leaves behind a loving daughter Cynthia (Pat) McGowan. Loving grandchildren Chad McGowan, Kelly (Erich) Rogers, Jamie (Lee) McGowan, Bruce (Lisa) Henderson, Missy (David) Taylor, Terry (Dawn) Booth, Dwayne Sexton, Angie (Jeff) Guinn, Becky Sexton, 17 Great grandchildren, and 8 great/great grandchildren. Clara’s family (her people) were very important to her. She always looked forward to big family gatherings. Clara was a caretaker by nature. She took care of her husband, then her daughters, and then her big sister until each passed. 43 years ago Clara was a founding member of Mission Baptist, Cincinnati. She was very active in their Ladies Group. Clara was faithful until her body wouldn’t allow her to attend. She then started watching their services online.

If you knew Clara you loved her. She will be terribly missed.

Visitation will be held on Thursday June 16, 2022 from 9:30 - 10:30 AM at Mission Baptist Church (7595 Montgomery Road). Funeral service will immediately follow at 10:30 AM.
