Melvin D. Thackrey

Thackrey, Melvin D., age 94, passed away December 10, 2019. He was survived by the daughter he never had, Linda Wates, also survived by two grandchildren he never had, and four great grandchildren he never had. He is preceded in death by his parents, Irene and Herb Thackrey and his wife, Donna. He was an avid fisherman, loved camping, and motorcycling. He was a farmer in Brookville, Indiana, later in life he installed furnace’s, was the head of the College Corner Water Works and retired from the Apple Farm Services at the age of 93. He volunteered at the College Corner Fire Department. Had many friends from different walks of life and had a beautiful smile for everyone he met. He will be greatly missed. Graveside services will be held at the College Corner Cemetery, Brookville Street, W. College Corner, Indiana 47003 on Friday, December 20, 2019 at 1:00 pm.
