Ellis A Miller

Miller, Ellis A., Born January 21, 1929 and passed away on June 21, 2018 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of Verna J. Miller (nee Bruns), married nearly 68 years ago, loving father of Pamela (James) Harris of St. Marys, Ohio, Coni (Robert) Biggs of Oxford, Ohio and Monty (Karen) Miller of West College Corner, Indiana. Adoring grandfather of Jonathan (Vicki) Harris, Jessica Harris, Jeremy (Carrie) Harris, Lori (Ricky) Robbins, Kyle Biggs, Amy Biggs, Rachel (Bobby) Pike, Angela Miller, Chris (Andrea) Melton, and Josh (Brittany) Melton. Great grandfather of Ashley, Robert, Brody, Edie, Teddy, and Ryan. Also survived by his brother, Neal Miller of Reily, Ohio. Preceded in death by his parents, Dale E. Miller and R. Gladys Balser Miller and many lifelong friends. He was a loving caregiver for his wife who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s 12 years ago. Ellis passed on the first day of summer which is known for being the longest day. The Alzheimer’s Association considers it a day to honor those afflicted with the disease. Ellis farmed the family farm in Union County, Indiana and he and Verna resided in the farm house which had been built pre-Civil War. Ellis was known for his quick wit and kind heart and will be missed by many. A visitation will take place at the Ogle and Paul R. Young Funeral Home, 5086 College Corner Pike, Oxford, Ohio 45056 on June 25, 2018 from 6 pm until 8 pm. An additional visitation will take place at St. Mary Catholic Church, 111 E. High Street, Oxford, Ohio on June 26, 2018 from 10 am until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Interment to follow at College Corner Cemetery.
