Charles R Lodge

CHARLES RICHARD LODGE-   March 31, 1934- April 13, 2018

Charles Richard (Dick) Lodge, 84, died peacefully, surrounded by his wife and four children, early morning April 13.  He was born in Steubenville, Ohio, the eldest child of Charles and Margaret Lodge, beloved older brother of Marjorie Lodge (Silverio), currently of Clermont, Florida.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Anne, daughters, Beth Lodge-Rigal (Dan), Kate Lodge (Larry Heiser), Mary Lodge, and son, Chuck Lodge (Katey Leitch). He leaves six grandchildren: Harper and Susannah Lodge-Rigal, Calvin and Annika Leitch Lodge, and Ian and Margaret Bartimole.  In addition, he is survived by nine nephews and nieces, and his brother-in-law, Joseph Foutz, of Dayton, Ohio.

Memorial services will be held at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 25 E. Walnut Street, Oxford, Ohio 45056 on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 1:00 PM.

Dick taught mathematics in the Columbus and Bexley, Ohio, public schools for 30 years and served as Business Manager at The Columbus Academy for 10 years.  He and Anne retired to the family farm in Preble County, Ohio, and spent another 20 years working blissfully on the land, serving his church, and the Oxford, Ohio, community in innumerable ways.  He was cherished for his kindness, selflessness, curiosity, and unfailing sense of humor. He will be remembered by his family and countless friends in whose lives his legacy of love will remain.
